JAMMU, Sept 17: A group of 46 Bio-sciences students and 4 faculty escorts from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) embarked on an educational excursion to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu under the guidance of Prof Abhay Sharma, Dean CEP, and Dr Nalin Sharma, Associate Dean Outreach.
The visit, hosted by IIT Jammu’s Department of Continuing Education & Outreach, provided the students with a unique opportunity to explore state-of-the-art facilities and gain firsthand knowledge from experts in the field of Bio sciences.
A highlight of the excursion was a tour of the IIT Jammu Bio Sciences Laboratory, where students witnessed cutting-edge equipment and learned about various research projects being conducted. The demonstration of 3D printing technology at the Tinkering Lab further captivated the students, showcasing its potential applications in healthcare and Biomedical engineering.
Renowned faculty members from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr Mithu Baidya, Dr Vinay Sharma, and Dr Shirsha Bose, conducted an interactive session, providing valuable insights into the field and inspiring the students to pursue advanced studies and research.
The visit to IIT Jammu proved to be a valuable learning experience for the SMVDU Bio sciences students, broadening their horizons and motivating them to explore new avenues in their academic pursuits.
