JAMMU, Nov 8: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) celebrated ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) to further strengthen the sense of oneness and unity within diversity amongst the students.
About 46 Kendriya Vidyalaya students from IIT, Chennai, Annanagar, Dindigul and CLRI participated and presented their performances representing unity and integrity of India.
Tejal, Samyukta, Sanjuktha and others presented classical solo and group songs in Tamil and Hindi along with dance performances.
The programme was also attended by the host Principals of K.V Jammu and Nagarota.
Tamil students were assisted with their mentors M. Amutha, Gowri, Girija and Nayab Singh.
The in-house performers Mansi Mathoo, Shivi Badyal, Abhinav and others presented scintillating performances in Dogri, Punjabi, Hindi and other regional languages of J&K.
Mohit Sharma, Mastana and Aakash of Institute of Music & Fine Arts, University of Jammu also performed Dogri Folk song. The cultural event was largely attended by students and faculty members of the university.
Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, SMVDU Vice-Chancellor said that Sardar Vallabbhai Patel gave us ‘Ek Bharat’, and now it is our duty to make it ‘Shreshtha Bharat’.
He reiterated that SMVD University has been strong bastions of cultural integration in the country having students from almost across all States.
