SMVDU conducts training program on ‘Procurement through GeM’

JAMMU, Aug 23: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University conducted a one- day hands-on training program on “Procurement through GeM” for faculty and staff members of the University.
Aim of the program was to provide practical training to all faculty and staff on how to use GeM effectively.
Vice Chancellor Dr Pragati Kumar informed that SMVDU adopted GRF 2017 rules in 2021 and since then it is making all procurement strictly in accordance with these rules through GeM.
D D Jha, Deputy Director General /Deptt of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry (Retd) gave an “Overview on GeM” and Sarthak Khoda, State Business Facilitator (Jammu & Kashmir | Ladakh) at GeM conducted two technical sessions on “Procurement through GeM”.
Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Registrar; Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer; Deans of Faculties and Heads of Schools also attended the training program. A total of 209 employees attended the training. The program was organized by the Stores and Procurement Wing of the University.
