JAMMU, Jan 27: A daylong workshop on “entrepreneurship and innovation as career opportunity” under the aegis of National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP) was organised by the School of Business, SMVDU, on Friday.
As per a statement, around 70 students from different PG and UG programs participated in the workshop.
It said Dr Suparn K Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Management and Chairman of the workshop, discussed the steps to prepare the business plan under the current changing business scenario while Dr Deepak Jain, Coordinator Workshop, presented the future directions and opportunities in different industrial sectors for the start-ups. He also discussed the start-up ecosystem and importance to analyse it.
Dr Ashutosh Vashishtha, CEO, SMVDU-TBIC, emphasized on the role of incubation centres in fostering innovation and the entrepreneurial development, it said.
Dr Rashi Taggar discussed the role of industry-academia interface in promoting the entrepreneurship.
Budding entrepreneur, Aditya Kanoria from SMVDU, founder, Befikra community, enlightened the participants about the platform developed to empower younger generation.
Meanwhile, entrepreneur, Amit Pandotra inspired the participants by sharing his start-up story of Shri Mahadev Food & Beverages and his brands-TankFull and LeharUp of enhancing the valuation from Rs 2.5 lakh to 30 crores.
