KATRA, Apr 29: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra and Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh joined hands in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony held at the SMVDU premises.
With the signing of the MoU by Professor Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU, and Professor Baldev Setia, Director PEC, doors have been opened for cooperation between the two illustrious institutions.
The MoU signing event was graced by the Registrar, Deans and Heads of the school from SMVDU, Director Prof Baldev Setia and delegation from Punjab Engineering College (PEC).
On the occasion, SMVDU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Pragati Kumar, articulated the significance of the partnership between SMVDU and PEC, emphasizing the potential for synergistic collaboration to drive academic and research endeavours to new heights.
Dr Shafaq Rasool, Associate Dean Academic Affairs, SMVDU, gave a comprehensive presentation offering insights into the rich academic tapestry of SMVDU.
A brief overview of different programs being offered at SMVDU and introduction of new programs like B Tech (Biotechnology), Bachelor of Design (B Des), B Tech in Mathematics and Computing, Design your Degree program and offering B Tech (Honors) and B Tech with Minor specializations from Academic session 2024-2025 at SMVDU was discussed and Director PEC applauded the SMVDU Vice Chancellor for introducing these programs keeping in view the evolving educational scenario and attaining the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
The comprehensive presentation offering insights into the overview of PEC was delivered by Dean, Research of PEC, Prof Arun Kumar and Professor R S Walia.
With the signing of the MoU, students pursuing different programs at both institutions stand to benefit from enhanced opportunities for cross-institutional collaboration, enriching their academic journey and preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.
