JAMMU, Aug 19: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) – an autonomous Institution of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India.
The major objective of the MoU, which was signed at Director General Chamber of NISE, is to work jointly to accelerate, expand and achieve the objective of National Solar Mission through training, skill development and capacity building programmes launched by NISE; Share each other’s facility, infrastructure and resources for meeting the institutional and national objectives; Jointly work on Testing Protocol and Development of R&D projects such as development of technical and quality standards for energy storage in solar rooftop, Electric Vehicles(EVs), Hydrogen Vehicles, testing beds for applications based energy storage technologies, Solar Thermal Technologies, thermal energy storage for different applications, solar/non solar based EV charging stations, performance monitoring of RE technologies, development of online platforms and web tools for wider dissemination of these technologies.
The MoU will be valid till five years from 2nd August 2019. On behalf of SMVDU, CMA Dr Prof Mukkapandhoy and Prof V K Bhat, Registrar, Dr M Eswaramoooorthy and Dr Sanjeev Anand attended the MoU signing ceremony at NISE.
Dr Arun Kumar Tripathi, Director General; Dr Chandan Banerjee , Deputy Director General; Dr Vikarant Sharma, Senior Project Scientist; Pratap Singh, PS to DDG and Er Rahul Pachuri Project Scientist of NISE; Dr Sanjeev Anand, Head, School of Energy Management and Dr M Eswaramoorthy, Dean Faculty of Engineering of SMVDU were presented in the MoU ceremony.
