SMVDU-TBIC conducts events for potential entrepreneurs in J&K

JAMMU, Sept 19: SMVDU-Technology Business Incubation Center Society (SMVDU-TBIC), in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and School of Business, SMVDU, organized a hands-on training workshop on “How to write a good business proposal”.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr Suparn K Sharma.
SMVDU TBIC is established at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakrial, Katra with the Grant-in-aid jointly from NSTEDB, DST, MoST, Government of India and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The SMVDU-TBIC is presently working under the supervision of Prof  Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU as chairperson of the Governing Council of SMVDU-TBIC. The main objective of the Incubation center is to identify potential Entrepreneurs, especially in the State of Jammu-Kashmir, nurture and support innovations, develop technology based ideas into independent self-sustaining business. The incubator in addition to providing mentorship will also be providing financial assistance to the incubatees.
SMVDU-TBIC has received so far around 40 innovative business proposals and after 3 rounds of screening, 7 startup ideas have already been shortlisted as incubatees from the State and identification of more is in process. In addition, SMVDU-TBIC is only Business Incubation center in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, identified by Government of India to recommend Startups under Startup India Initiative. SMVDU-TBIC has conducted two rounds of screening and has recommended 3 startups for the Startup India benefits, which are now duly recognized by GoI and are proving to be excellent businesses. Dr. Swarkar Sharma is the Interim-CEO of SMVDU-TBIC and with support from coordinator SMVDU-TBIC Dr  Ashutosh Vashishtha is carrying out objectives of society.
