Snatching case worked out, 3 accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, July 8: Working out a snatching case, Udhampur Police arrested three accused.
There was a case FIR number 356/2023, under Section 382/34 IPC, registered at Police Station Udhampur after a complaint was lodged by one Shanker Dass, son of Paras Ram, resident of Adarsh Colony, Udhampur that some unknown miscreants had robbed him of cash approximately 30000.
Following this, a special police teams of PS Udhampur, led by SHO Udhampur Insp Raghubir Singh did strenuous efforts which include meticulous analysis of CCTV footages, rounding up of suspects, collection and analysis of technical data etc.
Finally police teams zeroed in three suspects namely Jeevan Singh son of Santosh Singh of Bapp Chenani; Vijay Kumar son of Shanker Dass of Chowki Janrod A/p Adarsh colony, Udhampur and Rakesh Kumar alias Raku son of Lachman Dass of Mir, Tehsil Panchari.
During sustained questioning, they confessed their involvement in the said crime. Upon their disclosure, snatched money (Rs19500) was recovered from their possession.
Further investigations to unearth their linkages with other thefts and snatching cases in the area was going on and more arrests and recoveries are expected soon.
