JAMMU, Jan 5: NC Pirpanjal Zone president, Javed Ahmed Rana today expressed concern over problems being faced by the people in snow bound areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts.
In a handout Rana said that people in hilly belt especially in snow bound Pirpanjal Zone are facing scarcity of ration.
He said the roads in Poonch and Rajouri districts are cut off for last several days due to heavy snowfall and there is no means to supply ration to ration depots in these areas under the prevailing circumstances and the administration has failed to make preemptive arrangements in the area.
The NC leader said claimed power failure and water scarcity in the area which has added to the woes of the people of the hilly belt.
He demanded restoration of power and water supply in the area on war footing basis and said that all steps should be taken to ensure ration supply in Rajouri and Poonch.
Rana urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor to take stock of the situation in snowbound areas of Rajouri and Poonch and issue directives to the administration to ensure immediate supply of essential commodities in these areas so that the people are not put to more hardships.
