Snow snaps Valley’s communication links: Omar

JAMMU, Mar 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said tonight that telephone lines in the Kashmir Valley were down because of heavy snowfall, which has snapped a line and denied that it had anything to do with the rumours floated around.
In his message on micro-blogging site twitter after rumours spread thick and fast, Omar said the snow have snapped a line leading to disruptions in the telephone lines in the Valley.
“The BSNL is working to restore services,” he said.
Denying the rumours that spread in the entire State after the telephone lines (both mobile and landlines apart from internet services) went down, Omar said: “I know we love a good conspiracy theory but the failure of the phones has nothing to do with rumours floating around”.
