POONCH, Apr 3: Dr Shazad Malik, Vice Chancellor of Sai Nath Univeristy (SNU), donated water coolers for two Gurudwaras and a mosque besides several other Government schools in different areas of district Poonch. These freezing water cooler units are being provided by Sai Nath Group of Education on personal initiative of Dr Shazad who is also native of village Kasblari of district Poonch.
Accompanied by Sardar Narinder Singh, president SGPC, district Poonch, Lal Hussain, Chief Education Officer Poonch, Captain Murtza Ali (Commissioned Officer), Shazad Khan, Tehsildar Mankote and various other prominent citizens of the area, the Vice Chancellor administered the inauguration program at all sites.
The religious shrines of the Sikh Community, where the water coolers were installed, include Gurudwara Dharati and Gurudwara Mankote where Sardar Narinder Singh, president, SGPC Poonch inaugurated both the water points . In Jamia Masjid Mankote of tehsil Mendhar, the water cooler unit was inaugurated by Shazad Khan, Tehsildar Mankote.
One water cooler, each in Government Higher Secondary School Surankote for Girls, Government Higher Secondary School Surankote for boys and a HSS Gursai Moori, were inaugurated by Choudhary Lal Hussain, Chief Education Officer, Poonch.
While interacting with the students, the Vice Chancellor called upon the students to be optimistic and work hard to achieve their goals. He said that there is no dearth of opportunities in India and the only requirement in this democratic country is talent and hard work. Dr Malik also urged the youth of district Poonch to not confine themselves (for studies or job) in the district or State alone. Now the education is a global phenomenon and the youth must explore different options globally, he said and added India is the Only Nation in the world where people of all religion, languages and ethnicity co-exists so calmly and this is the only reason that today world is witnessing India’s growth.
The VC also assured all kind of help from SNU to these institutions for raising academic standard or for infrastructural development like Libraries, Laboratories etc.
