Social Audit

Sir,
It is often seen that aam admi does not have access to the works programmes of the different departments, being  executed wherein there is enough scope for wrong doings. Things are planned and executed by the deptt on papers and the layman does not have  any idea about the works being implemented.  Transparency and better implementation is to be maintained it would be good if the works of the deptts are put on websites and widely publicised. Likewise, the reporting of the progress, both physical as well as financial, be made online for public view. It would provide a good chance to the masses to actually keep an eye on the works and expenditure. Although RTI is there but everyone cannot afford to approach the authorities under RTI Act. If things are available online one can access it at his will.
Such an initiative is already there in some of the states of the country, like Plan Plus by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj GoI, MGNREGA Soft are put in the public domain by the implementing agencies and the masses have 24x7x365 access to the every related information. So there is minimum chance of hiding things from the real owners of the country.
Likewise, the concept of Social Audit needs to be encouraged by the agencies as it involves audit by the masses in whose area the work has been  executed.
Yours etc….
