Social Forestry employees stage protest dharna

JAMMU, Feb 10: The employees of Social Forestry today held a massive protest dharna in front of the office of Director Social Forestry (DSF) Jammu to focus the attention of Government and higher authorities of the department on their burning demands.
The protest was held under the banner of J&K Social Forestry Employees Union. During the protest, the employees were raising slogans in support of their genuine demands urging the higher authorities of the department to settle them at the earliest.
While addressing the protesting employees, the veteran Trade Union leader, Mohd Gafoor Dar, State president, J&K National Trade Union Front and Raj Singh, president, J&K Social Forestry Employees Union, stressed upon the Government and authorities of the department for immediate settlement of the demands.
Both the leaders warned the authorities that in case of further delay the employees will be compelled to intensify the agitation.
The demands of Social Forestry employees include fixation of seniority list of Junior Mallies from the date they were regularized as helper in the department, amendment in service rule of non-gazetted, immediate holding of DPC, re-organization of department, regularization of all pending daily rated workers including need based workers, settlement of SRO 43 cases, clearing all pending time bound promotion, etc.
Rajinder Kumar, Sheh Dev Singh, Vikram Singh, Updesh Singh, Piran Ditta, Bashir Mirja, Ram Paul Sharma, Mangal Singh, Mohd Ameen, Mohd Gree, Sat Paul and Hardev Chib also spoke on the occasion.
