Social organizations condemn Sarore incident, highlight demands

SAMBA, Feb 28: Various social organizations of the district today united to condemn the recent Sarore incident and appealed the district as well as State administration to punish the culprits and restore confidence of the people of the State.
In a joint meeting of various Sabhas of the district including Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha (SAKRS), Brahman Sabha, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Mahasha Sadar Sabha and Mahajan Sabha held here today under the chairmanship of Inder Singh Sambyal, president, SAKRS, the speakers said that recent incidents like murder of a forest employee, Kamal Singh, by a specific community members and the Sarore clash between police and a specific community members is testimony to the fact that a total lawlessness has prevailed in the Samba district.
“Some anti-social elements are vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of the State and trying to flare up communal tensions”, said Inder Singh.
The meeting demanded the State as well as district administration to provide a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Kamal Singh (the deceased forest employee) and a Government job to his son within one month and immediate arrest of all the culprits involved in both the incidents.
The speakers further demanded to immediately reinstate SHO Bari-Brahamana, Bharat Sharma, with honour; launch of anti-encroachment drive in the entire district of Samba to vacate all types of State land irrespective of caste, colour, creed and culture of the encroachers; verification of ration cards and PRCs of outsiders and make public the report of Special Investigation Team constituted by the district administration during March 2015 in the case of Chack Manga Gujrana.
It was decided in the meeting that a large rally will be organized on March 4 at Community Hall, Rajput Sabha, Samba, to discuss further these incidents. The meeting appealed members as well as political leaders of all the communities to attend the rally in large number.
