Social organizations, trade unions celebrate I-Day with gaiety, fervour

JAMMU, Aug 15: In connection with celebration of 66th Independence Day colourful functions were organised by various social, cultural and trade organizations all over Jammu region today.
Chamber of Commerce and Industries:  A grand function was organised Chamber of Commerce and Industries on the occasion of Independence Day at its headquarters Rail Head Complex today. The President of Chamber Y V Sharma unfurled the National Tricolor on the occasion and highlighted the achievements made by the country after independence.
Bar Association Jammu: To celebrate the 66th Independence Day a colorful function was organized by Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) here at the lawns of the High Court. The function was attended by dignitaries, guests, members of the Bar and their families. The National Flag was hoisted by the President of the Association, B S Slathia and welcome address was read by its general secretary, Vikram Sharma. On the occasion the BAJ honoured its members including T K Raina, Rajinder Saproo and Pawan Kundal who brought laurels to Bar by figuring in the select list of J&K Higher Judicial Examinations.
Bharat Vikas Parishad: The Independence Day was celebrated at Sarwal Colony by members of Bharat Vikas Parishad (Jammu West) branch along with large number of residents of Sarwal Colony with gaiety and fervour at Green belt park Sarwal today. I D Soni a noted educationist of the State and Commissioner Scouts and Guides was the chief guest on the occasion. He was honoured by O P Mahajan. The flag was hoisted by V K Tandon, president BVP Jammu West Branch which was followed by singing of National Anthem.
NHPC Jammu: On the occasion of 66th Independence Day a grand function was organised by the NHPC at its office complex Narwal near here. The flag was hoisted by Jatinder Singh Executive Director NHPC and function beside the employees of the organization was attended by CISF personnel also.
Dudhadhari Shopkeepers Association: Vivek Gupta president Dudhadhari Shopkeepers Association and vice president Jammu district JKNC hoisted the national flag at a function organised by the organization at Pawan Chowk Shastri Nagar in presence of a large number of shopkeepers and local people.
Guru Ravidass Sabha: On the occasion of 66th Independence Day a glittering function was organised by Guru Ravidass Sabha at Shri Guru Ravidass Ji Gurdwara Krishna Nagar Jammu. The Flag was hoisted by Vijay Lochan president of the Sabha who paid rich tributes to martyrs of freedom struggle.
All J&K Agriculture Employees Association: The Independence Day was celebrated by the Agriculture Employees Association who organised a grand function at Agri Complex Talab Tillo here in which all the officers and officials of the Department participated. Ajay Khajuria Director Agriculture Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the national flag. Uttam Chand Sharma president of the Association read the welcome address.
Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi: In connection with celebrations of 66th Independence Day a grand function was organised by Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi. On the occasion H L Chatta president ASKPC hoisted the national flag. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the children on the occasion which was followed by Satsang and address of Swami Kumar Ji who highlighted the significance of the Independence Day.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj:  A special programme was organised by Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj at Bhour Camp near here today in connection with celebration of 66th Independence Day in which Capt Bhagwan Singh hoisted the national flag on behalf of the Samaj. Dr Daljeet Singh president of the Samaj highlighted the achievements made by the country after independence.
Dream City Welfare Committee: On the occasion of Independence Day a colourful function was held by Dream City Welfare Association at Dream City Muthi today. On the occasion former Corporator and BJP leader Omi Khajuria hoisted the national flag in presence of the president of the Committee J L Ambardar.
Ward No 1: The National Flag was hoisted by Balbir Singh Ward No 1 president at Mohalla Chogan Slathia near Mubarak Mandi on the occasion of Independence Day today. All the ward members attended the function.
International Hindu Personal Law Board: A simple but impressive function was organised by International Hindu Personal Law Board Jammu, at Krishna Nagar Canal Road today. On the occasion National Tricolour was hoisted by Romesh Gupta State president of the organization and Suman Sharma its senior vice president.
Satyug Nirman: On the occasion of Independence Day Suman Sharma secretary general of the Satyug Nirman unfurled the national flag at a simple but impressive function here today.
Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC): To celebrate the Independence Day a grand function was organized by INTUC J&K Branch at PHE Pumping Station Sub-Division No 1, Company Bagh here. The Chief Engineer PHE, B R Dogra was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the national flag. The function was organised under the leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma State president INTUC and president Water Works Employees Association, Jammu province.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society: A grand function was organized by people of Trikuta Nagar Ward 53 under the banner of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society in connection with celebration of Independence Day today at Khow Wali Gali, Sector 1. Sameer Jeelani, SHO, Trikuta Nagar and Vinod Mahajan president of the Society hoisted the national flag on the occasion. The function was organised by Nitish Mahajan senior Youth Congress leader and a large number of people from different sectors of Trikuta Nagar attended it.
Shalamar Traders Association: On the 66th Independence Day an impressive but simple function was organized by the Shalamar Traders Association at Shalamar Road here. MLA, Jammu East, Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the National Tricolor in presence of a large number of people. Others who were present included president of the Association Jagmohan Gupta its general secretary Pardeep Sharma, senior vice president Daljeet Singh Bumrah, vice president, Satish Mahajan, cashier Jawahar Jain, secretary Varun Nagpal and spokesman Ravi Rohmetra.
Gandhi Sewa Sadan: A grand function was organised by Hand Made Paper Centre Gandhi Sewa Sadan at Baba Talab, Shama Chak near here in which Gusal Singh Nambardar was the chief guest. He hoisted the National Flag in presence of Ashok Dixit senior Manager Gandhi Sewa Sadan, Rajoo Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Bansi Lal and Lekh Raj.
Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC): On the occasion of 66th Independence Day the JTC organised functions at Block 92 and Block 30 of Jagti township where M L Akhoon advisor of the Committee and Shadi Lal Pandita its president unfurled the tricolor respectively in presence of the inmates of the twin blocks.
Karan Nagar Welfare Committee: A grand function was organised by Karan Nagar Welfare Committee at Karan Nagar here today in connection with celebration of Independence Day. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by S Kamaljeet Singh and Ashwani Charak in presence of a large number of the residents of the area.
Kashmir Dramatic Club: A colourful and impressive function was organised by KDC at Om Nagar Udaywalla in connection with celebration of Independence Day today. On the occasion president of the Club, P N Hakim hoisted the National Flag. A colourful cultural programme was presented by the artists of the Club after hoisting of tricolor.
Pir Panchal: The Independence Day was celebrated with gaiety and fervour by Pir Panchal at Sharda Radio Butta Nagar. A large number of people attended the function and the National Flag was hoisted by Manoj Jad cultural secretary Pir Panchal in presence of Vijay Kaul, Mukesh Thaploo and Rajesh Khar.
Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC): On the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organised by INTUC district Udhampur at PHE Station Barian Udhampur under the chairmanship of Som Nath district president INTUC. S C Jirath Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the National Flag. The School children sang National Anthem.
Mazdoor Dastkar Union (MDU): Tek Chand Gupta (Raju) chaired the Independence Day  function organised by MDU at General Bus Stand B C Road here and hoisted the National Flag at the function organised by the union in connection with celebration of Independence Day. The function was attended by N C provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta, Kavi R T Pandotra, president of the union, its senior vice president, Sham Lal Bhagat, Dr Sanjeev Malhota and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
Mirpur Mahajan Sabha: In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was organized by Sabha at Sarwal today. President of the Sabha Sanjay Gupta hoisted the National Flag on the occasion in presence of a large number of people.
Indira Housing Colony Welfare Society: The National Flag hoisting ceremony was organised by Indira Housing Colony Welfare Committee, Timber road Janipur today. The National Tricolor was unfurled at Main Chowk of the Colony by Dr H S Arora Joint Director Animal Husbandry who was the chief guest on the occasion in presence of a large number of people. Sixty children of the Spring Blossom Public School, Lakkar Mandi participated in the march past on the occasion. They also sang the National Anthem.
TRT Nagrota: On the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organized by Development Committee TRT Nagrota under the chairmanship of P L Dhar its president. On the occasion Mr Dhar hoisted the national flag in presence of inmates of the TRT. The children presented a colourful cultural programme and speakers highlighted the significance of the Day on the occasion.
K C Welfare Committee: The 66th Independence Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and charm by the residents of KC Colony and people of the surrounding areas at KC Colony today. On the occasion the national flag was hoisted by Surjeet Singh Chairman of the Colony Welfare Committee. He also highlighted the demands of the area .
Public Health Engineering Employees Welfare Association: A colourful function was organised by PHE Employees Welfare Association Jammu Province at PHE Rural Division B C Road here today under the chairmanship of S Balwinder Singh its president in connection with celebration of Independence Day today. Chief Engineer, B R Dogra was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the national flag.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan: On the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organised by the Sansthan in open theatre auditorium Durga Bhawan Disco Road Janipur here today. Kavinder Gupta former Mayor and senior BJP leader was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled the national flag. Haji Ghulam Mohammed Dansalia a famous artist and Duggar Rattan Awardee was the guest of honour.
Sarpanch Birpur: On the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organized by Sarpanch Birpur Gautam Singh Jamwal at Birpur today. Besides the hosing of national flag the office of the Sarpanch was also inaugurated on the occasion.
Akhand Sanatan Hindu Sangathan: On the 66th Independence Day a peace march was taken out through main bazaars of Jammu city to protest against the atrocities committed on Hindus in Pakistan and also against the unprovoked aggression of Pakistani forces on the International Border and LoC in the State. The activists of all Hindu organizations participated in the march and the speakers condemned the Pak authorities and statement of Pakistani Interior Minister.
Office of Principal Accountant General: The Independence Day was also celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm in the office of Principal Accountant General J&K Jammu today. Susheel Kumar, Principal Director RTI hoisted the national flag on the occasion and spoke about the significance of the Day. Then Jawans of J&K Auxiliary Police presented the Guard of Honour on the occasion. The function was organized by Recreation Club. D K Bakshi Accountant General and J L Meena DAG were also present on the occasion.
Shaheed –e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation: The Independence Day was celebrated at a grand function organised by the  Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation here today. On the occasion Dr Taran Singh president of the Foundation hoisted the National Flag at Bhagat Singh Chowk here in presence of large number of people and members of the organization.
INTUC Mahila Wing: In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was organized by INTUC Mahila Wing here today under the chairmanship of Lalita Sabharwal. On the occasion Mrs Sabharwal threw light on the significance of the Day.
PHE Workers Welfare Association: The Independence Day was celebrated at PHE Sub -Division Dounthali by the Association in which hundreds of employees participated. The function was chaired by Bakshi Singh president of the Association. On the occasion B R Dogra Chief Engineer PHE hoisted the National Flag.
Rehari Colony Hari Singh Nagar Jammu: A grand function was organised by residents of Hari Singh Nagar Rehari Colony in connection with celebration of Independence Day. The senior Congress leader Janak Raj Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the national flag. Raju Bhan a youth leader from the area also spoke on the occasion.
PHE Department Drivers and Cleaners Union: The Union celebrated the Independence Day at PHE Complex B C Road here today. On the occasion Chief Engineer PHE B R Dogra was the chief guest who unfurled the National Tricolor. S Swaran Singh president of the Union and Kartar Chand Dubey, Deputy general secretary of the organization also spoke on the occasion.
Resham Ghar Colony Jammu: In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was organised by the residents of the Colony outside the Super Specialty Hospital Jammu today. BJYM State president, Munish Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the national flag. A large number of people attended the function and Mr Sharma highlighted the significance of the Day.
Lakhdatta Bazar Businessmen Welfare Association: Vijay Saraf president Lakhdatta Bazar Businessmen Welfare Association hoisted the National Flag at a function organized the Association here today in connection with celebration of Independence Day. On the occasion the problems of the bazar were also highlighted.
Relief holders of Jagti: At a simple function organised by relief holders at Jagti township today. Ajay Bhat hoisted the National Flag. He also highlighted the plight of the migrant relief holders on the occasion.
Kashmiri Displaced United Council (KUDF): The Independence Day was also celebrated by KUDF at a function held at Jagti township today in which convenor of the organization Vinod Tickoo and its president Ashok Kaul hoisted the national flag in presence of the inmates of the colony.
Indian National People Welfare Society: In connection with celebration of Independence Day the Society held a function at Ram Lila Ground Bahu Fort. The national flag on the occasion was hoisted by Ram Singh president of the Society and Jagdev R Dalotra president Saryara Biradri Welfare Committee Bahu Fort.
Pahari Hostel Jammu: The Independence Day was celebrated at a grand function here today by Pahari Hostel Jammu. Shokat Kazmi D C Excise and Secretary PahariAdvisory Board who was the chief guest on the occasion unfurled the national flag.
Vinayak Institute of Nursing and Para Medical Sciences: The National Festival of Independence Day was celebrated with fervor and gaiety by the institute at a function here today under the chairmanship of Amandeep Singh who hoisted the national flag.

All J&K Sikh Unity Forum: A function was organised at Link Road Simbal Camp near here today by the Forum to celebrate the Independence Day. On the occasion senior Congress leader S Rajinder Singh unfurled the national flag.
J&K Sikh Human Rights Watch: A joint function was organised by J&K Human Rights Watch and First Step Tutorials to celebrate the Independence Day at Janipur Colony here today. B L Kapoor State chairman JK Human Rights Watch unfurled the national flag on the occasion.
Motor Parts Dealers Association: Flag hoisting ceremony was organized by Nishi Kant Khajuria, president of the Association at Transport Nagar here today. All the office bearers of the organization attended the function.
