JAMMU, Aug 3: The Social Welfare Department under the supervision of Director Dr Bharat Bhushan, organized a special heritage visit for senior citizens from the Day Care Centre in Roop Nagar, Jammu. The day-long excursion aimed to expose the elderly to significant pilgrim sites and provide them with a memorable experience.
Around 100 senior citizens were transported in five air-conditioned buses provided by the J&K Road Transport Corporation to visit key locations in Udhampur District, including Gauri Kund, Sudh Mahadev and Mantalai. The trip was coordinated by District Social Welfare Officer Jammu, Mamta Rajput and Incharge Superintendent of the Day Care Centre, Vikrant Narwalia.
Dr. Bhushan expressed his appreciation to Rakesh Serangal, Managing Director of the Road Transport Corporation, for facilitating the transport. He also announced future plans to organize similar heritage visits for senior citizens and children from departmental homes, including trips to Nathatop, Patnitop, Suchetgarh, Mansar, and Sanasar. The initiative reflects the department’s commitment to enhancing the lives of senior citizens by connecting them with cultural heritage and offering enriching experiences.
