UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: Sohan Singh has been unanimously elected as president while Prithi Singh as general secretary of the Majalta unit of the Senior Citizens’ Club Udhampur.
In a meeting of the senior citizens of Majalta Tehsil held at Tehsil headquarters in presence of Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, president Senior Citizens’ Club Udhampur and Shiv Dev Singh Tiyagi ( Ramnagar Unit), the Sohan Singh senior teacher (retired) was unanimously elected as president. Simardev Singh was declared as Patron-in-Chief of the Majalta Unit. Ram Singh Kulbir Singh, Yudhvir Singh, Ramesh Singh and Lochan Singh as vice presidents, Ved Parkash Retd ZEO as Joint Secy, Rajinder Singh and Bhagwan Singh as publicity secretaries, Balbir Singh and Subhash Chander as advisors while Surinder Singh and Shiv Kumar Verma as treasurers. An Advisory Board was also constituted on the occasion.
On this occasion, blankets, food items, tools etc were provided to the needy widows, specially abled children and other needy people of the area.
President SCCU, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal and Shiv Dev Singh, president Ramnagar Senior Citizens’ Club addressed the gathering and resolved to work for the welfare of the society.
