JAMMU, Feb 19: In order to celebrate Soil Health Card Day, the Department of Agriculture under guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi Iqbal Singh organized a event for farmers of District Reasi at village Sirha, block Panthal in which large number of farmers and farm women participated.
On the occasion, Neeraj Rajwal, SMS SDL and Incharge District Soil Testing Laboratory, Sanjay Koushal SMS KVK Reasi, Deepak Singh, SMS-SDL, Rakesh Sharma, District Agriculture Officer expressed their views.
Iqbal Singh, CAO Reasi appealed to farmers to come forward for availing benefit of Soil Health Card scheme.
In the end, Vikas Sharma, AEO Reasi presented vote of thanks.
Proceedings of program were conducted by Rakesh Sharma, AEA.
Besides farmers, Agriculture Extension Assistants, Bharat Bhushan, Vipin Raina, Aushotosh Sharma, Rajnish Rajput, Amit Sharma, Jasbir Singh and Vijay Kumar, AEA participated.
It’s pertinent to mention here that Soil Health Card Day was also celebrated simultaneously on its launching day in all villages of district Reasi covered under Model Village Program (Pilot Project Phase-1) of Soil Health Card Scheme with full zeal and zest.
As many as 92,000 Soil Health Cards have been so far distributed among the farmers in Kathua district and 22,000 more farmers will be included in Soil Health Card registration after physical verification of soil test in coming times.
This was stated by Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO), Kathua Vijay Kumar Sharma on the occasion of Soil Health Card Day celebrations.
District Agriculture Officer, Sanjiv Rao, Soil Testing Lab Chemist, Sareshta Andotra and Agriculture experts were present during the press conference.
