JAMMU, Sept 21: The Soil Testing Laboratory (STL) Jammu has achieved accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for soil macro and micro nutrients testing.
This significant milestone was attained under the leadership and guidance of Dr Arvinder Singh Reen, Director Agriculture Jammu, and the dedicated efforts of the Agriculture Chemist Jammu, Dr Aman Jyoti Sharma, Assistant Soil Chemist Dr Neeraj Rajwal, and the entire STL Jammu team.
The NABL, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, is renowned for providing accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories across various fields. As a Constituent Board of the Quality Council of India, NABL sets rigorous standards to enhance the efficacy and quality of testing laboratories. NABL is a certification that ensures that the laboratories have infrastructure and processes that are accepted nationally and internationally. NABL accreditation is provided by Quality Council of India.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the STL Jammu team. It marks a significant enhancement in our laboratory’s capability to deliver precise and reliable results,” said the Director Agriculture.
The Soil Testing Laboratory Jammu is equipped with world class equipment for analyzing macro and micro nutrients. Serving as a central laboratory, STL Jammu provides technical assistance to nine other soil testing laboratories in the region and also supports other Departmental STL’s, MSc, PhD students from Central University and Jammu University by conducting analysis for their samples.
