JAMMU, Mar 7: Three persons including a soldier were killed in accidents here today.
As per police sources, Head Constable of Army identified as Dharmanand Tiwari (posted with 626 EME Battalion at Satwari Cantt), son of Ramakant Tiwari, a resident of Uttar Pradesh was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by an army vehicle at Gandhi Nagar.
He was immediately rushed to MH Satwari where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
After conducting autopsy at GMCH Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 65/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, one unidentified man was killed after hit by a bus near Jewel area.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of GMCH Jammu for identification.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
In another incident, a man was killed in motorcycle and Tata Mobile collision at Maira Mandrian area of Tehsil Akhnoor, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Parbu Daya, a resident of Maira Mandrian, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.
After conducting autopsy at SDH Akhnoor, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 59/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and hunt has been launched to nab the driver of the Tata Mobile, who managed to escape from the spot.
