Srinagar: A solider and a civilian were killed in an ongoing gun battle in South of Srinagar today.
A Police officer said that Indian troops cordoned off Khudwani in South Kashmir district of Kulgam during the night after inputs that militants are hiding in a house. Two militants have been trapped in the village.
He said a solider was killed in the gun battle and another was injured. One civilian was also killed and another has been hit by pellets during the protests that broke out in the village against Indian troops.
Authorities have suspended Train services in South of Srinagar.
Thirteen militants, four civilians and three soldiers were killed early this month in the area.
