Solidwaste management

Sir,
It is prime need of the day that one should realize  the hazardous effects of “Solid wastes” in the shape of polythene bags, broken glassware, plastic items etc which are continously being dumped near habitations which may block the drains especially during rainy season. These wastes give rise to the eruption of harmful gases, growth of mosquitoes and all that which may otherwise cause serious health hazards by affecting human population in the vicinity. So it becomes necessary for every citizen to join hands to check this major environmental problem by adopting some prehand measures for the proper disposal of solid wastes of day to day life which are suggested as follows-
* Prehand segregation of “Solid wastes”.
* Waste and broken polythene and plastic items shall be directly handed over to street vendors  so that the same can be recycled in factories.
* Broken glasswares should be thrown in  a nearby stony nallah which will in turn get mixed with sand and gravels and can be reused for construction purposes.
The vegetable  and fruit peels can very easily be  converted into “vermi compost” by dumping the same in a pit in  your kitchen garden.
So,  in my opinion, it is hoped that by adopting the above mentioned step our precious environment can be saved to a large extent.
Yours etc…
