JAMMU, Nov 13: A meeting of Somyar Temple (Mandir) Trust Habba Kadal Srinagar was held here, today.
The meeting was informed that O N Koul president of the Trust along with T K Ganjoo and Dr Ramesh Bhat met Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Culture and Education and informed him that the Somyar Mandir complex in Habba Kadal is in a very bad condition although it is under the occupation of CRPF since 1990.
A renovation plan for the temple complex was presented to Principal Secretary by the president of the Trust. The Principal Secretary assured to include the same in the works programme 2025-2026. The delegation also demanded that the renovation and development of the temple complex be included in the Government of India funded schemes for rehabilitation and development of shrines in Kashmir. It was also decided that the elections which are due will be held shortly.
