SAMBA, Feb 19: A youth died and his father was seriously injured in a road accident near Ghagwal Bus Stand on Jammu Pathankot National Highway today.
According to police, Trilok Singh, a resident of Gurha Jatta, Ghagwal was travelling on a scooty with his 26-year-old son, Shubham Singh.
Meanwhile, a truck coming from Jammu hit the scooty on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.
Shubham Singh and his 62 year old father, Trilok Singh, son of Karan Singh, resident of Gurha Jatta, Ghagwal were seriously injured. Police took both of them to Trauma Hospital, Ghagwal with the help of local people.
The doctors declared Shubham Singh dead in the hospital and Trilok Singh was referred to GMC Jammu for better treatment after first aid.
Shubham Singh’s body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites after the post-mortem which was performed at the Samba District Hospital. In this context, the police have registered a case and started investigation. The police has arrested the driver and also seized the truck.
