JAMMU, Jan 29: Son of soil, Harish Kumar Gupta, has been appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP), Andhra Pradesh (AP).
As per an order, the 1992-batch IPS officer has been given full additional charge of the post following the retirement of Ch D Tirumala Rao.

Jammu-born Gupta, who currently serves as the Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government in the GA (V&E) Department, will take over with effect from January 31, 2025, the order said. The order, issued by Andhra Pradesh Government, stated that Gupta will hold the charge until further notice.
