JAMMU, June 13: BJP co -in charge Jammu and Kashmir Ashish Sood today lambasted former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for saying that no development has taken place in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 by Narendra Modi Government.
Hitting back at NC leader, Sood said “It is true that no development has taken place for the Abdullah, Mufti and Nehru -Gandhi families who ruled the J&K for over six decades and looted the resources of the erstwhile State”.
In a strong rejoinder to Omar Abdullah, the BJP leader said he (Omar) should come out of his Gupkar bungalow
so that he can see what development has taken place in J&K under Modi rule. There is a sea change in the UT since the annulling of controversial Article 370 and 35 A and development is visible on ground. He said Omar is not to blame as the loot of resources has ended in the UT that has resulted into desperation for some ruling dynasties. He said in real sense lot of good was done for the people of J&K by BJP Government and the common masses in the UT are fully satisfied and acknowledge the same, he added.
He recalled that two AIIMS were established in J&K while IIT, IIM and other prestigious institutes were established. Biotech Park, Seed Processing Plant, research institute for high altitude medicines, Jammu Zoo, Banihal to Qazigund Tunnel, Zojila tunnel linking Kashmir with Ladakh and reducing the distance, four lanning of Akhnoor road, construction of highways etc are few projects to name.
Sood said 17799 kms roads at the cost of Rs 10788 crore were constructed in J&K but this can’t be visible to dynastic parties. He said besides, six medical colleges were also opened in J&K and out of 81 lakh Ayushman cards issued to people of country which can be used in 244 selected hospitals all over India. Out of this eight lakh beneficiaries are from J&K UT, he added.
The BJP leader said but unfortunately these developments are not visible for Omar Abdullah and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti because they don’t come out of their mansions.
