JAMMU, Nov 4: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan from Ward number 44 here today started construction work of drain at Street number 10, Sector 7 of Guru Nanak Nagar.
The construction of drain in the area was a long pending demand of the people of the area and they approached Councillor Soodan in this regard who in turn brought the matter into the notice of JMC authorities and got the required funds sanctioned for the work of repair and coverings of the drain.
The JMC approved the work promptly which shall be completed at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 11.21 lakh.
After approval, the Councillor started the work today in the presence of prominent citizens of the Ward.
Speaking on the occasion Soodan said that other works of the Ward shall also be completed soon.
He sought cooperation of his Ward residents in making the area cleanest in the entire city.
The JMC Councillor urged the locals to avoid throwing garbage here and there and use the services of door-to-door moving autos for garbage disposal.
