JAMMU, Dec 1: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), S. Inder Singh Soodan from Ward number 44 here started drain work at lane Number 8 in Sector 7 of Guru Nanak Nagar.
Earlier people of the area approached Soodan with the demand of repair of the drain as it was upgraded several years back and was in very bad condition.
The Councillor in turn approached JMC with the demand and got the project approved for this work at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 15 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Soodan said that other demands of the Ward will also be fulfilled soon.
He asked the people of the area to maintain cleanliness in the Ward and avoid throwing garbage here and there and avail the services of garbage collecting autos visiting door-to-door.
S. Baldev Singh, S. Balwant Singh Bali, Baj Bahadhur Singh Bali, Dr. Dharamveer Singh Khosla, Pawan Kumar Goswami and Ravinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
