JAMMU, Jan 29: Councillor from Ward Number 44 of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan here today started the work of new drains in Sector-13 of Guru Nanak Nagar.
The old drains in the area were in dilapidated condition and were adding to the problems of the people living there and they were demanding repair of these broken drains since long.
The work started today shall be completed at an expenditure of Rs. 35 lakh.
Locals of the area also raised some issues on this occasion, responding to which Soodan said that all these issues and other works of the Ward shall be completed soon.
He sought cooperation of the locals of the area in making his Ward a clean and green one.
Soodan urged the people of his Ward to avoid throwing garbage here and there and use the services of garbage collecting autos in this regard.
He stressed on avoiding single use plastic and poly-bags in daily affairs of life.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Sardar Mehar Singh, Sardar Baljit Singh, Sardar Darshan Singh and others.
