JAMMU, Nov 6: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Inder Singh Soodan of Ward number 44 here today started drain work at Sector 14, near Power House in Guru Nanak Nagar.
Drain of the area was upgraded several years back and was in very bad condition at present.
People of the area approached Councillor Soodan in this regard and demanded repair and covering of the drain. The Councillor in turn visited JMC offices and got approved the work for repair and covering of the drain which shall be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 28 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Soodan asked the people of his Ward to avoid single use plastic in daily life and stop throwing garbage here and there to maintain cleanliness in the Ward.
He asked the people to use services of door-to-door moving autos for garbage disposal and help the Urban Local Body to make the Ward a model one in Jammu city.
Many prominent persons of the area were also present on the occasion.
