Sopori attends Asian Summit on education, skills at Bangalore

JAMMU, Oct 11: Pratiba Sopori senior Academic Coordinator attended three days conference of Asian Summit on Education and Skill (ASES) organized by Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India at Bangalore. She was the only educator selected from Jammu and Kashmir to attend the most prestigious conference at International platform. The objective of conference was the designing assessment to encourage students to improve teaching, to celebrate progress and improve learning.
Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S.Yediyurappa was the chief guest on the occasion. Education Minister of Afganistan was the guest of honour who reflect on the priorities they have for education, the benefits of the support for them and immediate feedback for the students to encourage further learning and improvement.
Former Director, Asian Summit on Education and Skill (ASES) in his welcome address stressed upon the authentic challenge and improvement to upgrade the designing assessment 4.0. He also complimented the international panelist Alex Peter CEO Prodigy Education for choosing what and how to asses to optimize learning.
Caroline Wright, Director General, British Education Association presented a lecture on learning when we have time and assessing when we are ready. Balasubramaniam spoke on to prepare children for present not future. He further focused to prepare children to learn, unlearn, relearn because attitude and values are inbuilt and given but knowledge and skills are to be picked up. People do what you say, they don’t do what you do.
