JAMMU, Jan 3: SOS International and Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) termed the Governor’s Address in the joint session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislature as discriminatory.
“SOS International reprimands Governor NN Vohra’s discriminatory Address in the joint session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislature where he just looked like a mouthpiece of PDP-BJP dispensation” this was stated by Rajiv Chuni, Chairman SOS International in a statement issued here today. Chuni further said that the whole Address of Governor which was scripted and designed by Government was meant to appease only one community i.e. Valley migrants where PoK DPs were nowhere in sight and they were again dumped. He alleged that Governor delivered a well knitted biased Address referring to Prime Minister’s Package for the return and rehabilitation of Valley migrants and dignified return of Kashmiri Pandit families to the Valley.
“Being a constitutional head of the State, he must have accommodated all the stake holders in his address especially PoK DPs who have given supreme sacrifices to save the State of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 during tribal invasion but he didn’t do and the magnitude of discrimination can be gauged in his Address to the joint session of State Legislature. In his address, the Governor counted scores of things about Valley migrants in length and breadth, whether it is reservation in Government jobs, professional and technical colleges across the country or others but Governor didn’t take the trouble to speak about such things for PoK DPs who are the prime victims of Jammu and Kashmir problem for more than 7 decades”, Chuni stated.
Meanwhile, President, JWAM Sunil Dimple also termed the Governor’s Address as discriminatory.
He said in Governor’s Address, nationalist people of the State have been ignored and open invitation has been extended to Pakistan agents, separatists and hurriyat leaders for dialogue. He said that no single word has been uttered in Governor’s Address on the ambush attacks on security forces, ceasefire violations and on the martyrdom of security forces personnel. Dimple disclosed that on January 5, a protest march will be held for the discrimination with Jammu region. He demanded minority status to the Hindus of the Jammu and Kashmir.
