JAMMU, July 5: SOS International- an organization for PoK Displaced Persons today organized a massive rally here at Rehari and warned the Government to implement the package before the deadline i.e. August 2015 otherwise PoK DPs won’t be responsible for any pandemonium which will occur after the deadline.
Thousands of PoK Displaced Persons attended the rally and expressed their anguish against Union and State Governments over the delay in resolution of package which was sent by State Government to Central Government after continuous efforts of SOS International leadership for its early implementation.
While addressing the gathering, SOS International chairman, Rajiv Chuni, expressed his resentment over the dilly-dallying tactics of Government regarding the resolution of the settlement package. He said that it has been more than a year since Narinder Modi led Central Government came into power in Centre and J&K Government has also crossed more than four months in power but the issue of PoK Displaced Persons is still hanging in lurch.
“PoK DPs have been waiting for their rights for a very long period of time and not providing them their due justice is similar to ‘Justice delayed is justice denied’. Patience of PoK DPs is running out and they will not tolerate anything hostile on the part of Government”, he added.
SOS International Chairman regretted that Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is the head of the committee, formed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed approximately two months back to look into the matter of PoK DPs problems, till now has not called a single meeting with PoK DPs.
“It is very pathetic that the party (BJP) that became coalition partner for the very first time in Jammu and Kashmir by securing 25 seats in Jammu Province is ignoring the cause of PoK DPs who participated in huge numbers during LA polls to ensure most seats in Legislative Assembly”, he added.
