JAMMU, Jan 13: State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K organized an awareness program in collaboration with Youth Hostel Association of India on deceased organ donation and transplantation in Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu.
Participants were given information about National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization’s (NOTTO’s) website and how they could register themselves as Donor on the website.
The participants were also made aware of this program. They were informed about the legal procedure involved in organ donation. Participants showed their interest to become an organ donor and support this cause for humanity. Many participants filled up pledge forms for organ donation.
Anshu Sharma (Consultant IEC) and Irfan Ahmed lone (Transplant Coordinator) coordinated the whole event under the supervision of Dr S L Kachroo (Joint Director, SOTTO J&K).
During the programme, members from various NGOs which includes Youth Hostel Association of India, Regional and Urban Development Agency, Art of Living and Green India Foundation were present.
