SAMBA, Sept 30: Dr Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director SOTTO, J&K gave a comprehensive presentation about Organ Donation and Transplantation in convention Hall at DC Office Complex Samba, clearing various myths and misconceptions associated with it vis a vis Thota, 1994, Organ Donation and Transplantation Act implementation in J&K.
Dr Puri said that anyone could become an organ donor online by Adhaar linked mobile clicking the link https://notto.abdm.gov.in/. He motivated the members from various departments including Health and others to register as organ donors.
CMO Samba stressed the need to augment general awareness about the organ donation. She also appealed the public to come forward for the cause. She appreciated the efforts of SOTTO for spreading the message. She administered the pledge for organ donation to everyone.
The meeting was attended by District Health Officer, Dr Anju Bala, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sanjeev Gupta among other officers and staff along with SOTTO team, Anshu Sharma, Media Consultant, Irfan Ahmed, Transplant Coordinator and Nisha Kumari, Programme Assistant.
Deputy CMO presented vote of thanks. Many members registered online to become organ donors.
