JAMMU, Apr 7: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Soujanya Sharma visited Railway Station Jammu and assessed the sanitary conditions and performance of municipal services.
Commissioner was accompanied by RN Meena, Senior DTM/JAT and Ashwani Kumar, Station Manager.
Soujanya Sharma issued necessary instructions for improvement of civic amenities. He added that to make the surroundings of the Railway Station Jammu neat and clean is a joint venture of Railway authorities and JMC.
During the visit, Soujanya Sharma was apprised by the railway authorities that around 65 thousand passengers reach the Railway Station every day but the unhygienic condition of the station has remained concern of the authorities as well as visitors.
JMC and Railway authorities have decided to remove the filth from the premises within next couple of days.
Commissioner gave direction to the sanitation wing to deploy men and machinery for the purpose.
The officers accompanying the Commissioner were Secretary, Health Officer, Executive Engineer (T), Chief Transport Officer and other field staff.
