SRINAGAR, July 18: Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, senior Congress leader and former Union Minister, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Prof. Soz discussed with the Governor several issues relating to the security environment in the State and the difficulties being faced by the people at large due to the strikes and protests.
Assuring attention to Prof. Soz’s concerns, the Governor urged him to continue his efforts towards the restoration of normalcy and the advancement of the State’s interests on all fronts.
Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister, also met Governor and briefed the latter about the various initiatives underway to meet difficulties faced by the public, including the uninterrupted supplies of essential commodities and medical care in the hospitals.
The Governor discussed with Prof. Mattoo the need to focus on the vital importance of the educational sector to urgently identify approaches for making good the recurring loss of studies suffered by the students at the school, college and university levels.
