JAMMU, May 16: Describing Parliament results in the Jammu and Kashmir State as ‘tragic’, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz  today congratulated those who secured win in the polls.
In a statement issued this evening, Prof Soz said, “ It is so tragic that despite our best efforts, the coalition candidates in the State have lost the election. It is further unfortunate and shocking that a person like Ghulam Nabi Azad has also lost the election who had served the State during all these years.”
“The election will go down in the annals of Parliamentary history of India in which propaganda won over facts and truth got mixed with falsehood of various shades,” he alleged.
“ But, finally, it is the peoples verdict and we have to accept it gracefully.
It is an occasion to congratulate the winners. It will be our endeavour to work harder and reach out to people and continue to serve them best. We should also sit together go for self introspection and look out for the shortcomings.”
“I feel convinced that India’s strong secular edifice will stand test of the times and the hallmark of India’s polity will continue to be the unity in diversity,” the PCC chief maintained.
