UDHAMPUR, June 11: Major fire broke out in a Steel furniture factory at Battal Ballian Industrial area, this afternoon triggering a panic wave among people in surroundings.
The fire broke out in the SP Steel Furniture Factory around 3:30 pm and soon engulfed the entire complex. Even as there was no loss of life or injuries to anyone, the industrial unit got completely devastated in the fire.
Fire tender were roped in for extinguishing the fire, but it took around four hours to completely control the blazes after hectic efforts.

Reports said that soon after the fire broke out in the factory and a message was flashed in this regard, two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and Yogesh Sharma, Incharge Fire Station Udhampur under the supervision of Assistant Director Sarvesh Langer and SHO Udhampur Chaman Gorkha with police team and others officers had rushed to the spot on getting information about the incident.
Cause of the fire is not yet known but Udhampur Police has registered the case and investigation was started.
