SPCA organises sensitization workshop on prevention of cruelty on animals

JAMMU, June 2: SPCA in collaboration with animal welfare NGO Save Animals, Value Environment Society organised a sensitization workshop regarding animal welfare for Police and Veterinary officers with enforcement of provision of cruelty on animals and animals welfare laws, at DC office complex.
Gauri Maulekhi, who is a leading animal welfare advocate in India with over two decades of work experience working with Government agencies, was the resource person during the workshop.
She also serves as a trainer for law enforcement agencies in animal protection laws.
Different session regarding prevention of cruelty on animals and animals welfare laws were discussed during the workshop in which, Gauri Maulekhi highlighted the Prevention of cruelty to animals Act 1960 followed by Care and Maintaining of Case Property Animals Rules 2017, Standard Operating Procedure for Police and Veterinary officers and questions answers.
ACG Manisha, Sr Vice president SPCA Jammu, Chairperson Save Animals value Environment Devinder Kaur Madaan along with Police officer, Veterinary officers and others senior officers from concerned departments were present during the workshop.
