JAMMU, Mar 2: The Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today, visited Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Gangyal and took stock of medicare facilities being provide to the patients there.
On the occasion, the Speaker dedicated Air Conditioners to the hospital for Ultra Sound Unit and Operation Theatre (OT). He said that every possible help will be extended to the hospital for smooth running of the institution. He said that the issue regarding availability of modern facilities in the hospital with will be taken up with the concerned authorities, adding that his priority is to develop the healthcare facility a full-fledged hospital.
Meanwhile, the Speaker, who is also Chairman of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) Committee reviewed the physical and financial achievements, at an officers meeting, registered under RKS for the development of hospital. He directed concerned authorities to accelerate their efforts and utilize the funds allocated under RKS for development of the health institute so that the patients could take full benefits of modern healthcare in the area.
During the meeting threadbare discussions were also held for overall development of the hospital and several decisions were taken for early implementation for making the hospital a modern one.
Speaker was briefed about the various functioning of the institute.  The management of the hospital demanded installation of separate transformer for the hospital, construction of waste disposal pit and washrooms for patients and attendants..
Speaker assured that the matter would be taken with the higher authroties of the Health Department so that these facilities are made available within shortest possible period.
Later, the Speaker went round the various units of the hospital directed the concerned to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the hospital besides ensuring punctuality of the staff both medical and para-medical round the clock.
