Speaker, CM pay tributes to Wali Mohd Itoo

JAMMU, Mar 18: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today paid rich tributes to former Speaker, late Wali Mohammad Itoo whose death anniversary falls today.
Describing late Itoo as a statesman of stature, the Speaker said he conducted the House in a befitting manner with utmost impartiality. He said late Itoo was a leader of masses who always had the welfare of people close to his heart. He discharged his responsibility with dignity and courage and the House owes regards to him. Mr. Gul stated this during the Question Hour in the House.
Mr. Gul said the House has been presided over by men of stature in the past. He said the contribution made by Abdul Ahad Vakil and Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma in enhancing the stature of the House is also praise worthy.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah paid  rich tributes to former Speaker late Wali Mohammad Itoo describing him a true friend of people who sacrificed his life for them and upheld high principles of democracy, human dignity and public cause.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo while addressing a large gathering at Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district described former Speaker, Wali Mohammad Itoo as pro-people and leader of high calibre who worked for the prosperity of the people living in far-flung areas.
The Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi while speaking on 19th death anniversary of late Wali Mohammad Itoo termed him as the torch bearer of prosperity in the remote areas like Noorabad constituency.
MLA Amira Kadal, Nasir Aslam Wani also spoke on the occasion and paid rich tributes to the late Wali Mohammad Itoo.
