Speaker convenes public grievance redressal camp

JAMMU, Mar 10: In order to take stock of problems and demands of the people, Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today convened a public grievance redressal camp at Bhour Camp, Satwari.
People from various villages put forth their demands and grievances before the Speaker including concerns regarding provision of drinking water, road connectivity, healthcare, education, sanitation, replacement of old water supply pipes and electric poles for strengthening the existing infra of PHE & PDD.
The villagers also put forth their problems related to disbursement of widow pension and old age pension.
The Speaker gave a patient hearing to the problems and demands projected by the people during the camp and called upon them to remain united and play their decisive part in nation building.
The Speaker said that the tubewell of the area has been restructured for increasing the output and an amount of Rs 1 crore has been earmarked for replacing damaged wires and poles.
He said that the rural belt of Gandhi Nagar constituency has always remained on his priority.
He informed that all the main roads of rural belt including Chatha-Skaust, Jeevan Nagar-Maralian, Satwari-RS Pura, Sunjwan-Chatta road have been constructed in the last two years involving expenditure of several crores.
Kavinder Gupta further said, “with the active support of people the institutions of governance at ground level are being strengthened, adding every resident has vital duty to take up the concerns of the society at appropriate forums”.
He exhorted upon the people to come forward to reap the benefits of schemes especially designed to meet the aspirations of people. He appealed the educated unemployed youth to avail the benefits of various schemes initiated by both Central and State Governments to establish income and employment generating units.
