Speaker for active public cooperation in developmental programmes

JAMMU, Dec 1: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today visited Hari Vihar Colony, near Kunjwani Bye Pass and took stock of the problems of the people.
The Speaker was apprised with the problems and demands by the people, which included repairs and renovation of roads, lane and drains besides augmenting water and power supply. The locals also projected their demand of early replacement of old electric poles and wires.
Interacting with the people, the Speaker said that Rs.3 crore will be spent on construction of lanes and drains in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, adding that 14000 electric poles are also being installed to improve power supply in the area. He sought public cooperation for implementing the developmental and welfare programmes launched by the Central and State Governments.
The Speaker said that the Coalition Government has initiated massive developmental programme with an aim to uplift the living standard of the people. He said that a new era of peace and development has ushered in the State during last eight months of present dispensation, adding that strenuous efforts are being made to bring about perceptible changes on ground. He said crores of rupees are being spent on road projects in the State, adding that several micro and macro road projects have been completed in the State.
Responding to the demands of the people, Mr. Gupta said that the Government is well abreast with the problems of the people and all the resources are being pooled to redress their grievances on priority. He appealed the people to come forward and take advantage of the welfare schemes launched by the Government.
