SRINAGAR, July 10: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul today directed the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) authorities to take up face lifting of Assembly Complex before ensuing Assembly Session. He also directed them to start construction work of Rs 7.2 crore additional block of the complex.
These directions were given by the Speaker in a high level meeting of officers of Law, Estates, Fire and Emergency Departments and JKPCC here today.
Threadbare discussion was held on installation of fire extinguisher in the Assembly complex besides face lifting.
The JKPCC authorities informed the meeting that the projects for installation of fire extinguisher at an estimated cost of Rs 10.68 crore was prepared in February 2010 and forwarded to the Law Department for further necessary action. The Speaker took serious note about the delay and directed all the concerned departments to work in tandem to start the construction work of fire extinguisher on modern lines on war footing basis.
Among others, Secretary Assembly M. Ramzan, Secretary Law Fahrat Tasneem, Director General Fire Services, Director Estates, MD JKPCC and other officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
