SRINAGAR, May 5: On the opening of Durbar here, Speaker, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today inspected Assembly Secretariat and took stock of its functioning.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari also accompanied the Speaker during the inspection.
During the inspection, the Speaker went around various branches of Assembly Secretariat including Hospitality & Protocol, Estimates, Administration, Public Accounts and Public Undertakings. He interacted with the employees and enquired about the facilities and space available for them in their respective offices.
Mr. Kavinder enjoined upon the Assembly staff to work with zeal and dedication and maintain the record properly. He also asked the concerned officers of different House Committees to pursue with the departments for Action Taken Reports on the recommendations and observations of the previous Committees and make the departments accountable for responding to the queries by the panels from time to time.
Secretary, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Ramzan and other senior officers of the Assembly Secretariat accompanied the Speaker during the inspection.
