SRINAGAR, July 25: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today visited Eidgah Srinagar and took stock of various developmental works under execution in the area. He directed the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all developmental works and complete them in a time bound manner.
Earlier, the Speaker convened a high level officers meeting in his office chamber and discussed and reviewed the pace of progress on development of Eidgah Srinagar.
Threadbare discussions were also held on demarcation of Eidgah praying ground, play field, Eidgah Park, drainage system, earth filling, construction of new mimber and two entrance gates, installation of permanent public address system, development of Ali Masjid and construction of residential quarter for Imam.
Detailed discussion was also held on construction of joggers path, establishment of art market, plantation around the prayer ground, play field and Eidgah Park.
It was informed in the meeting that detailed project report of Rs 10 crore have been prepared for drainage system and submitted to the concerned quarter for release of early funding.
Floriculture Department informed the meeting that a project for creation of staff, maintenance of Eidgah has been prepared, so that it can be maintained under one hand.
Secretary Sports Council informed the meeting that sports field will be developed soon.
Tourism Department, which is also nodal department for development of Eidgah, informed the meeting that 90 per cent of earth filling and levelling of Eidgah have been completed and rest portion of 10 per cent would be completed before Eid-ul-Zuha.
Mr. Gul directed the district administration to ensure cleanliness in and around the Eidgah so that the people cannot feel any inconvenience.
A team of senior officers including Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B. B. Vyas, Principal Secretary, Planning B. R. Sharma, Commissioner/ Secretary, R&B Tanveer Jahan, Commissioner Secretary Tourism Attul Dullo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly M. Ramzan, Chief Engineer, R&B, Secretary Sports Council and other officers and engineers of various departments accompanied the Speaker during his visit.
