Speaker kick starts developmental works

JAMMU, July 23: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today launched various developmental works in Ward Number 58 at Digiana.
Senior functionaries of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), other concerned departments besides locals of the area were also present on the occasion.
Speaker started the upgradation work of lane, drains and road in various areas of Ward No. 58 including Dashmesh Nagar Green Avenue and Akali Kaur Singh Nagar, Digiana to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 7 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that present Government is committed to provide basic amenities to people in every nook and corner of the State. He said that participation of the people is necessary to identify development needs and to fix their priorities in integrated manner. He said that present dispensation has taken number of projects in all core sectors to meet the developmental aspirations of the people.
The Speaker directed the executing agency to use quality material and complete the construction work within stipulated time frame. He also reviewed the sanitation condition of the area and directed the officials to look into the matter on priority.
