JAMMU, Apr 29: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today launched a sanitation drive “Make Jammu clean” from Ward Number 50, Channi Himmat, Housing Colony.
Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Soujanya Sharma, Health Officer, MVO, other officers and officials of JMC, Ex -Municipal Corporator and prominent citizens of Channi Himmat Housing Colony were also present on the occasion.
While speaking, Kavinder Gupta said that fogging will also keep a check on mosquitoes and other insects which can be a source of some deadly diseases.
A roaster schedule for whole of the city has been prepared and Commissioner and other officers/officials would inspect the sanitation of various wards as per the schedule which starts from May 5 and so on, he added.
Gupta informed that all the men and machinery would be pressed into service to achieve the optimum results during the drives. CTO section of JMC will clear all the nallahs and deep drains and get all the silt and garbage removed well in time, he added.
A thermal fogging to bring down the larval and adult density of vector mosquitoes has also been finalized for whole of the city which will start from May 1 from Ward number 1, 2, 3 and so on.
