Srinagar, Aug 18: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today visited various flood affected areas included Safakadal and Khankisukta in Eidgah Constituency and took stock of situation arisen due to increase in water level in river Jehlum.
A team of senior officers of district administration including District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Shah accompanied the Speaker during the tour.
During visit to Khankisukta, the people of the area met the Speaker and apprised him about the damages caused due to rise in water level in Jehlum to their private property and Masjid Sharief.
The Speaker gave them a patient hearing and directed the DDC to send a team of officers to assess the losses caused to property so that necessary financial assistance will be given to the affected families. He also assured the affected families that every possible help will be provided from the Government.
